Ration: Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 28, 2026
1. Introduction
Pavlo Terpak ("we" or āIā) provides the Ration app to help users visualize their daily time scarcity and practice "Digital Stoicism." This policy explains how Ration handles your data. Because Ration is designed as a private, local-first instrument, our data collection is strictly minimal.
2. Data Collection & Usage
Ration operates entirely on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not maintain external servers for your app data.
- Local Preferences: Your configurations (Wake/Sleep times, Work hours, Entropy percentage, and selected Skins) are saved locally on your device using Android DataStore.
- Calendar Access (Device-Only): To calculate your automated daily "Tax," Ration requests read-only access to your device's calendar (
READ_CALENDAR). This calendar data is processed strictly locally on your phone. It is never uploaded to a server, transmitted over the internet, stored externally, or shared with us. It is used solely in real-time to calculate overlapping events and subtract them from your daily Ration gauge.
- Purchases: If you upgrade to Ration Pro, the transaction is handled entirely by the Google Play Billing Library. We do not collect, process, or have access to your credit card information. We only receive an anonymous digital receipt confirming your Pro status to unlock the premium features.
3. Third-Party Sharing
- No Data Sales: Because your data never leaves your device, it is impossible for us to sell your personal information, calendar events, or daily habits to third parties or advertisers.
- No Analytics Trackers: We do not embed third-party behavioral analytics or advertising trackers in the app.
4. Data Deletion
You have absolute control over your data by default. Because no data is stored on external servers, you do not need to contact us to delete an account.
- To delete all your Ration preferences and data, simply clear the app's data in your Android Settings or uninstall the app from your device.
